Abstract
This paper will describe the work of the practice based initiative entitled ‘Creative Resource’ and examine the relationship of this work to the design industry and design education. ‘Creative Resource’ is an ongoing three-year programme of research focussing on the sustainable development of materials and the design process. It is investigating from a design perspective the aesthetic, economic and manufacturing potential of materials made from waste and, working with government organisations at a local and country wide level, exploring the network of partnerships between the business community, regional government and the waste management industry.
