Abstract
The existing music visualization designs mostly focus on presenting information in a single dimension, and the interdisciplinary integration of acoustic characteristics and cultural semantics has not been deeply explored. To enhance the diverse dissemination of traditional operas in modern society, this paper proposes a music visualization design framework based on Chladni figures. Taking the Yue Opera "The Butterfly Lovers" as the object, an interdisciplinary path of "acoustic analysis-synesthesia translation" is constructed. Through Chladni experiments, the vibration patterns of musical sound waves are deconstructed, and acoustic attributes such as pitch and rhythm are transformed into graphic primitives. Meanwhile, relying on Thayer's emotional pattern and Itten's Color Theory, a mapping system of "frequency-graphic-emotion" is established. The design integrates cultural original elements such as the patterns of Yue Opera costumes to achieve a systematic translation of acoustic characteristics and cultural connotations. Through this research, a composite expression paradigm of "acoustic precision+artistic narrative" can be provided for intangible cultural heritage, offering new inspiration for the rejuvenation of traditional Chinese opera music.
