Abstract
In the context of global localization, two intertwined paths — retracing and exploring traditional folk crafts — are gradually clarifying a dual developmental pattern. With the increasing industrialization and commercialization, the modern transformation of traditional folk crafts has emergedasa pressing design challenge. Thispaper employsarepresentative case study method, examining the systematic design strategies of the "Made in Nature" brand, which exemplifies transformative practices of folk crafts within a dynamic market environment. From the perspective of cultural reproduction, the research examines the logic of translation in traditional folk crafts within contemporary society. Focusing specifically on the distinctive path of transitioning folk crafts into gifts, "Made in Nature" investigates the commercial value of traditional crafts amidst the contemporary socioeconomic and creative industry trends. By leveraging the medium of gifts, "Made in Nature" elevates folk craft products beyond mere materiality, seeking commercial value as a pathway from predicament to opportunity. This approach positions traditional folk crafts as composite carriers of cultural inheritance, regional connection, and aesthetic experience, promoting their adaptive transformation and innovative reconstruction, thereby providing practical experiences for the sustainable development of Chinese folk crafts.
