The DRS Learn X Design 2021, 6th International Conference for Design Education Researchers took place online between 24–26 September 2021. It was hosted by Shandong University of Art & Design (SUAD) in Jinan, China. During this online international conference, the participants reflected on the ongoing challenges which have affected their practices and the process of sharing different perspectives with the international design education community members facilitated collective learning. The challenges that design educators experienced were reflected in the conference tracks, such as managing design education in times of crisis; and those related to ethics and our personal, societal and educational circumstances.
338 authors from 39 countries contributed 168 submissions as research papers, case studies, visual papers, and workshops. Peer review was double blind by a 219 member international scientific panel. The overall acceptance rate across all submission categories was 46%.
