Abstract
This study explores new possibilities for collaboration between companies and research institutes through a co-design approach aimed at creating new services. Such attempts focus on designing inter organizational knowledge by emphasizing the process of value co-creation through the mutual involvement of participants with different expertise levels. In terms of theoretical contributions, this study reviews the origins and evolution of design thinking and its development into service and transformation design. Additionally, it discusses possibilities for the development of new design thinking in light of the transformation of social and industrial structures through the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In summary, this study seeks to redefine design thinking and co- design approaches in the modern age by employing both theoretical and practical approaches. The results show that designers can create new designs based on a human-centered perspective by incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as AI and sensors into the design process.
