Abstract

This paper, through a case study, shows how five UK craft makers design services around their daily routines. Based on that, the study offers insight into how the craft makers offer these services and the motivations behind their service design implementation. Additionally, during the service process, specific stakeholders are involved in the network. These people will have an impact on the service procedures and results. Based on that, we will create a clear service ecosystem map that shows who offers these services and who receives them. This study provides new insights into how UK craft makers operate services in innovative ways and raises awareness about the UK craft industry and service design activities to engage with a broader audience. More importantly, it will lay the basis for follow-up research.
